TO SEE THY FACE AGAIN by Osunkoya O'niyi

TO SEE THY FACE AGAIN I'll do anything to see thy face again For t'is lovely and joy to behold For it restored grace and beauty to my fading stance And a lightning struck across my wandering soul. I'll go far across the hills in sought of thy face Everest; I’ll climb with joy to behold its radiant beauty Hurdles will do nothing to my thirstiness for it And i'll faint not for the heights it requires. I'll cross Atlantic and ride past deep blue Pacific won't scare a bit for i seek thy face Pains; my want for you it helps seek height The worst is as the raising of Moses’ right arm. My heart melts to perceive your aura once more My flesh is rust from your prolonged absence Again, in want to feel alive and breathing And i'll do anything to see thy face again. 3:39, Aug. 03, 2016

The king on a cross by Osunkoya O'niyi

The king on a cross His head is thronged with crown Neither of kingship nor of royalty But of thorns worn into him His mouth was made to taste wine Neither of merry nor of joyousity But wine mixed with myrrh Bitter to the mouth but just to mock him His side pierced with spear He meant no evil, but that they meant for him His blood gushed out... Blood, blood and water His hand holed with nails He's done no wrong but punished for doing right His feet with nails hanged on the tall wooden sculpture The king of glory in the cross The cross made by man Made for larcenists, made for the purloiners The crook, the reprobate, the bugler... The king of glory forsook his majesty Just to climb the forsaken cross To become a curse for the sake of his beloved The iniquity of many he had to cleanse The debt of all he alone should pay His robe was torn and casted amidst stark peasants He was mocked, humiliated and shamed, turned to public ignom...

I REFUSE TO BE LESS THAN A MAN by Osunkoya Olaniyi

I REFUSE TO BE LESS THAN A MAN Though your strength, at me are hurled, Though your knowledge are at me waxed, Though your wisdom are at me welled, But yet, I refuse to be less than a man. Though words; you about force from my mouth Though feelings; you about unleashed from me Though moves; you about trigger in me But yet, I refuse to be less than a man. Though songs; you nearly draw from my cabin Though sounds; you nearly got from my cymbals Though impulse; you nearly got from my nerves But yet, I refuse to be less than a man. With wisdom will I exercise strength With wisdom will I judge around you With wisdom will I discern for you 'Cos I refuse to be less than a man. With meekness will I rule about you With authority will I lead along With tenacity will I reign across 'Cos I refuse to be less than a Man. Osunkoya O'niyi A.

ELECTED BY GRACE by Osunkoya Olaniyi

ELECTED BY GRACE Drowned, helpless and wanting around in sin Low, guilty, enslaved and crushed Shambles all over, death lurking around Darkness looms like deep sea all around me Waiting in pains as one for slaughter. My fatling lay waste in my ever fearful soul Dry bones rejoice for they see sapien more hopeless Dry grass restore their faith at my sight For I became a curse to the living Yet I know not that i lay in despair. A tiny flash i saw in my wandering For it became as great light...lightning my darkness My eyes opened, my ears unblocked to perceive my troubles There's nothing quiet as forlorn as this valley, My chains I saw... My hell breaking lose Light shone on my path, glory chose to shine on me Comfort for my forlornness, exhilaration for my tears, Help to my need, life to my all Hope restored, t'was an awakening of my soul Redemption to my weary soul. Tis only by grace did he come for me Only by grace did he ...

AM I TRUE TO MYSELF by Osunkoya Olaniyi

AM I TRUE TO MYSELF I want to live with myself and so I want to be fit for myself to know I want to be able as the days go by always to look myself straight in the eyes I don’t want to stall with the setting sun And hate myself for the things i have done- I don’t want to keep on a closet shelf- and cozen myself as i come and go Into thinking that no one else know- the kind of man i really am I don’t want to dress up myself in ignominy I don’t want to deserve all men's admiration But here's the struggle for fame and puf I want to be able to like myself I don’t want to look at myself and know That I’m bluster and bluff and empty show I can never hide myself from me I see what others may never see I know what others may never know I can never fool myself and say Whatever happens i want to be Self-respecting and conscience free.

WHAT MATTERS MOST (16)

WHAT MATTERS MOST No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. 1 Corinthians 13:3b (Msg) Love means living the way God commanded us to live. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is this: Live a life of love. 2 John 1:6 (NCV) Life is all about love. Because God is love, the most important lesson he wants you to learn on earth is how to love. It is in loving that we are most like him, so love is the foundation of every command he has given us: “The whole Law can be summed up in this one command: ‘Love others as you love yourself’” (Gal. 5:14 LB) Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task. It runs counter to our self-centered nature. That’s why we’re given a lifetime to learn it. Of course, God wants us to love everyone, but he is particularly concerned that we learn to love others in his family. As we’ve already seen, this is the second purpose for your life. Peter tells us, “Show special love for God’s people.” (1 ...

FORMED FOR GOD’S FAMILY (15)

YOU WERE FORMED FOR GOD’S FAMILY I am the vine, and you are the branches. John 15:5 (CEV) Christ makes us one body ... connected to each other. Romans 12:5 (GWT) DAY 15 FORMED FOR GOD’S FAMILY God is the One who made all things, and all things are for his glory. He wanted to have many children share his glory. Hebrews 2:10a (NCV) See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for he allows us to be called his children, and we really are! 1 John 3:1 (NLT) You were formed for God’s family. God wants a family, and he created you to be a part of it. This is God’s second purpose for your life, which he planned before you were born. The entire Bible is the story of God building a family who will love him, honor him, and reign with him forever. It says, “His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.” (Eph. 1:5 NLT) Because God is love, he treasures relationships. Hi...

WHEN GOD SEEMS DISTANT (14)

WHEN GOD SEEMS DISTANT The Lord has hidden himself from his people, but I trust him and place my hope in him.  Isaiah 8:17 (TEV) God is real, no matter how you feel. It is easy to worship God when things are going great in your life—when he has provided food, friends, family, health, and happy situations. But circumstances are not always pleasant. How do you worship God then? What do you do when God seems a million miles away? The deepest level of worship is praising God in spite of pain, thanking God during a trial, trusting him when tempted, surrendering while suffering, and loving him when he seems distant. Friendships are often tested by separation and silence; you are divided by physical distance or you are unable to talk. In your friendship with God, you won’t always feel close to him. Philip Yancey has wisely noted, “Any relationship involves times of closeness and times of distance, and in a relationship with God, no matter how intimate, the pendulum will swing f...

WORSHIP THAT PLEASES GOD (13)

WORSHIP THAT PLEASES GOD Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30 (NIV) God wants all of you.  God doesn’t want a part of your life. He asks for all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength . God is not interested in halfhearted commitment, partial obedience, and the leftovers of your time and money. He desires your full devotion, not little bits of your life. A Samaritan woman once tried to debate Jesus on the best time, place, and style for worship. Jesus replied that these external issues are irrelevant. Where you worship is not as important as why you worship and how much of yourself you offer to God when you worship. There is a right and wrong way to worship. The Bible says, “Let us be grateful and worship God in a way that will please him.” The kind of worship that pleases God has four characteristics: God is pleased when our worship is accurate.  ...
